MALE INVOLVEMENT IN PREGNANCY AND CHILD BIRTH
Male have appreciated being involved in Ante natal care in Mwanza region.
PRINMAT, through Cordaid support has influenced men to come with their wives as they come to attend clinic during antenatal care. This is a pilot project in Mwanza. PRINMAT is working in partnership with Mwanza region health authorities to facilitate male involvement in ante natal care. PRINMAT is seeking for funds to expand the project. 07 May 2010
UJANA PROJECT
PRINMAT is succeeded in reaching married youth with HIV prevention information. The information is given to female during reproductive and child health clinic through UJANA project. Male involvement has been promoted through person to person contact. The private nurses and midwives have the potential working with grass root communities and are trusted by community members.
UJANA project is USAID funded through FHI to PRINMAT. The youths who have been reached are potential for changing other youth to prevent them from HIV transmission. 07 May 2010
